“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”(Matthew 7:11)
I have heard people saying, ‘we ought to leave this health and wealth thing and know God for who He is’.. What a statement.. It looks spiritually sane but when you think about it, it makes little sense.. The question is, who is He? In the Old Testament, He called Himself the God that health thee.. More strongly (Jehovah Rapha) He attaches His Name to healing..Exodus 15:26 “And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.”(Ex 15:26)
He showed Himself to Abraham as Jehovah Jireh(A God who always provides). He ties provision to His Name. That is who He is. More than that, He is now the Father of the New Creation.. He is our Father.. He is not just a far God. He is a literal Father to the us who are in Christ..
Now which father would ask his children, ‘how many of you love me more than the food I buy? Since you love me more than food, we can stay hungry today’. Its outrageous. He is not insecure to compete with the provision he gives for his family. A child is actually as rich as his parent. So is our Father. He always is willing to provide good things that we need and desire.. Observe,
Mark 7:27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
Healing is the children’s bread. It belongs to the children. The Father provides it,as a natural parent would provide breakfast to his children.. “Therefore we are no longer slaves but sons, and if sons, then we are heirs of God.” (Gal 4:7)
Remember the Living God is a Loving Father to us. And the expression of His goodness to us,draws us closer to Him.. Just like a man woes a woman he loves with good things, so does God..He loves us.. And we love Him and we are constantly experiencing His love and goodness..
